Today mutualink announced the public safety industry’s first smartphone gadget powered interoperable gateway device dubbed the Smartphone Commander. The Smartphone Commander runs the Google Android mobile platform and will work with any 3G Carrier or over or over a WiFi network. What the Mutualink Smartphone Commander does is provide anywhere anytime field functionality on Mutualink’s secure distributed ad-hoc multi-media interoperable emergency communications resource sharing platform. It enables on scene incident commanders to create incident defined interoperable communication sessions invite participants and contribute and remove disparate communication assets on the fly, including two-way radio, video, telephony and data.
The Mutualink Smartphone Commander will be unveiled at the APCO International 75th Annual Conference booth 510 on August 16-20, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
